I grew up in Southampton and have family in Bournemouth. I am married to Claire and we have two young sons, Calum and Dylan. Their favourite place to spend time is at Bournemouth beach (even in the rain!).
I enjoy cooking, gardening, football, mountain walks and running. Last year I completed the London Marathon, raising funds for Bournemouth Citizens Advice Bureau. I am a member of Friends of the Earth and Amnesty International, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
I am currently the Director of a national policy charity, CentreForum. Previously I worked as Economics and Brussels Correspondent for The Times. I studied history at Oxford University.
This is my first time running for parliament. Having spent time campaigning at a local politics level, and having worked as both an economics journalist and policy expert, I am well placed to talk and advocate for the people and area of Bournemouth West, Alderney and Branksome East.
